Is that it?
11.53 am This is a market that teaches you not to be too greedy and with a further rise of 40 points to 5750, I'm wondering if that's enough for now.
My large cap book is pretty flat unfortunately with STO doing ok to be close to square after weakness in oil overnight while IGO and TWE are slightly up and slightly down respectively.
It's in the small cap book where things are going well. The pick of those is Cleanteq which has announced an upgrade of the resource base, quite a large one. I sold some at 123 and some at 128 and have a few left. It's currently trading at 127.
Afterpay Touch is also firmer, up 10 to 437, but on much less convincing volume. Nevertheless, it's a technical buy signal that I pre-empted on Friday adding more shares on the closing match.
3.12 pm The pullback has been pretty mild with the market peaking at 5759 and now back at 5745.
I've been in Bellamy's for a little while, looking for a clear break of the 800 level. That's happened today with the stock surging to 829.
4.28 pm The final reckoning gave us a gain of 29 points on the index to 5739. I don't have much of a view except in the very short term there's room for a push above today's high. If that happens tomorrow it could easily be an early thing followed by a choppy pullback.
I sold out of IGO for 372 which was scratch and STO at 405, down 4 on the day and down 2.5 cents from my entry price. I kept TWE which rose 12 to 1420 on the day. I added a new long in NXT, the data centre operator. It's a slightly strange daily with a slow pullback to just below 440 which nonetheless held a rising trend channel. It has gapped a little higher today with broker support as it starts to regain some verve. I've bought on the close at 458.
The small cap book went pretty well today and I added some BAL at the closing level of 830 now that it has broken through.
