12.01 pm A fall of 44 points in the index including another 7 points from ex divs. Lithium stocks are under pressure so it's cost me in MIN and ORE and the shorts didn't do too much for some reason. Defensives are holding up ok and I've bought back some QAN and added some Transurban. TCL might have made a higher low on Tuesday and a swing up would take it into the 1190-1200 range.
The small caps are pretty flat. Afterpay, a new position, is down 19 but it has large ranges and at the moment is just an inside day.
4.16 pm Transurban finished pretty well, rising 5 on a day when most stocks fell. QAN was down 3. A losing day but a decent recovery from some early weakness. The small caps went ok and I picked up a few dollars on revaluations.
So the first leg of the bounce is over and the retracement might be about two thirds of the way through. I expect there'll be some support at 5950 with the index closing at 5973, a loss of 43 points.
